Chairman's email to congratulate the school on the PSLE results on 24 Nov 2011

Dear Mr Tan, school leaders and school teachers,

Congratulation, Ai Tong School has done extremely well for this years PSLE!!!

We are glad to hear that Ai Tong School has achieved one of its best results so far for PSLE with passing rate of 99.7%, PSLE average T-score of 226.5, 82% eligible for Express, 24.6% scoring 250 and above. On top of that, we have also broken our record of A* and A English 74.6%, Math 70.2% and Science 62.8%.

All these great achievements will not be possible without the bold changes implemented by the school leaders, the dedication and imparting of knowledge from all the teachers in building a strong foundation for the students since P1, and also the commitment and contribution from all the P6 teachers this year, unselfishly spending more time on our kids and sacrifice their own family time.

Hence, on behalf of PSG, parents of P6 students, and all our P6 students, I will like to thank all the staff from Ai Tong School for the hard work. Understand that you are having celebration today and yes, indeed the teachers really need a break and celebrate the phenomenal achievements of Ai Tong! Good Job and Enjoy!!

Also today is double happiness for you, Mr Tan. While celebrating the excellent results of Ai Tong, you are also celebrating your birthday! We, PSG, also like to wish you a Happy Birthday and thank you for your ???? towards our kids. Somehow they have listened to you and today their results show it.

Cheers!

Lim Chong Huat

Chairman

International Friendship Day on 8 Apr, 12pm to 4pm

Dear PSG members,

The event mentioned above is a few days away and we have more or less finalized the International Food for the event. However we still need more parents to volunteer to attend to the booth to help to serve the food and explain the food to the students base on the write-up prepared. Hence we are appealing to more parents to come forward to help out in this event. Parents helping out are to report to the school (probably at the hall but not confirm yet by the school) on the 8 Apr 11, 12pm. We will need to set up and decorate the booths before the event commences.

Parents volunteering are also encouraged by the School to turn up in special national costumes to commemorate the event together with the School. However, if you dont have special national costume, it is fine, You may come in PSG T-shirt or any red color T-shirt (same colour as our PSG T-shirt).

Parents who have not registered and will like to join in the fun with your kids and the School, please email your name, contact number, email address to Karen at kwmelody(at)yahoo.com.sg or Chong Huat at chlim(at)coseclinic.com (please replace (at) to @). Alternatively contact our mobile, Karen at 97348819 and mine is 97668933.

Thank you for your support!!!

Regards,
Karen and Chong Huat

Good news! Time for us to get together again!

The school has approached PSG to help out in celebrating International Friendship Day. PSG is requested to set up some booths providing food from different countries or races. This event is for all the students from 2pm to 4pm.

We are proposing to set up 3-5 booths and will like to see if any of the PSG members can make any food from different countries, like Malay food, Chinese timsum, Indonesian food, Myanmar food, Korea food etc. As we are not allowed to cook in the school, we are suggesting that the food be prepared at home then bring over.

The event is on 8 Apr and the school has about 2000 students. However, you need not prepare for 2000 pax, maybe about 500 will do, while stock last. As the school has limited budget for us to spend on this event, we are also appealing to parents who like to sponsor to let us know by contacting Karen at 97348819 or Chong Huat at 97668933 or email to events@aitongpsg.org . Parents who like to make a claim if you prepare the food, please provide us the receipt and we can use the fund from the school to reimburse you.

  1. Since we are short of parent volunteers in the morning, the food fair for the event will be held in the afternoon. Students in the morning session who want to join in the food fair can stay back.
  2. Since the event will be held in afternoon, the quantity of food we need to prepare can be lesser. With so many variety of food, I suggest that those preparing food just prepare for 300 pax will do.
  3. For those parents who are preparing food, you will need to have an A4 size paper decoration describing the food that you are preparing. However if you are not able to do so, please let Karen or me know so we can help to do something.
  4. For parents doing the poster to describe the food, please pass it to Karen by 7 Apr 11.
  5. For parents preparing the food, please send the food to the school by 1pm on 8 Apr.
  6. For parents volunteering to tend the booth, please also report to the school by 1pm on 8 Apr to help with the set up.
  7. Parents are to watch out on hygiene when preparing and distributing the food to the students. Bring enough tools to distribute the food you prepare.
  8. PSG comm. will prepare the plates and forks for the students.

We need about 10 volunteers in the afternoon to attend to the booth. Please let us know if you can help out by filling up the details below and send it to events@aitongpsg.org:

  • Name :
  • Contact number :
  • Help in the afternoon 2pm 4pm: Yes / No
  • Type of food that I can prepare:
  • Amount I will like to sponsor:

That is all for now. Please check your email more often from now till 8 Apr for more updates.

Thank you for your support and contribution.
